Controller

The Midtown Group has seen rapid growth and is seeking an internal Controller for our Finance Department. Preferred candidates will have 5+ years of experience as a Controller in a financial setting. Strong customer service in addition to having excellent attention to detail and communication skills are desired.

Prior experience within the staffing industry experience is a plus. This is a permanent opportunity with competitive base salary and industry-leading benefits.

Project work to include:

  • Assistance with Quickbooks Enterprise Migration
  • Assistance with Bullhorn Back Office Integration
  • Creation of weekly, monthly and quarterly financial reports

Description

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for analyzing the weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual financial reporting for the organization
  • Prepares revenue and gross margin projections, including financial projection and analysis
  • Prepares and audits financial statements; corrects all discrepancies and/or financial transactions charged to the wrong account
  • Directly supervises the Finance Department and supervises the management of receivables, payables, payroll, commissions and bonuses, vendors, worker’s compensation, insurance, and frequent cost benefit analysis
  • Responsible for reviewing the expenses and financial statements for each division
  • Reviews legal documents such as contracts and leases
  • Interacts with operations department on a daily basis
  • Provides continued support and customer service to Executive Team
  • Performs other duties as assigned/necessary
  • Creating overarching company and divisional P&L

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree required, preferably in Accounting or Finance
  • Two to five (2-10) years of experience as a supervisor preferred; preferably in the it, consulting, staffing, credit or finance industries
  • CPA or MBA preferred but not required
  • Ability to maintain good working relationships with co-workers, supervisor, management, and department head staff and various agency personnel
  • Computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, etc) and Quickbooks, required
  • Ability to effectively elicit/provide information to and from appropriate individuals (including, but not limited to, supervisors, co-workers, clients) via strong communication skills required; proficiency in the English language may be required
  • Must be available to travel for occasional off-site meetings
