In 1989, just one year after graduating from college, Helen Stefan Moreau, Midtown’s President & CEO, co-founded staffing company The Midtown Group with little more than a desk, phones and fax machine. Now, her company is one of the top professional staffing services and solutions firms for public and private sectors across the nation.
Helen opened the company in 1989, just months after beginning her career in the staffing industry. Upon graduating with degrees in Public Relations and Business from the University of Florida in 1988, she inquired at a staffing firm about a full-time position in public relations. The firm recruited Helen not for PR, but to work at the firm itself. Shortly thereafter, Helen came to the conclusion she was either going to work for another agency, or start her own staffing business with a partner. She chose to start the new business, quickly bought out her partner, and grew the business to the success that it is today.
Helen has fostered a company culture that encourages workplace flexibility and recruits well-rounded employees. Now, Midtown is continuing to scale up to the top of the industry. The management team at Midtown is fearless and never looks at something new as being impossible. The company’s management team has built long-term relationships, including several that have lasted the entire 34 years the company has been in business, by listening to what clients care about.
