In 1989, just one year after graduating from college, Helen Stefan Moreau, Midtown’s President & CEO, co-founded The Midtown Group with little more than a desk, phones and fax machine. Now, her company is one of the top professional staffing services and solutions firms serving public and private sectors across the nation.
Helen opened the company in 1989, just months after beginning her career in the industry. After earning degrees in Public Relations and Business from the University of Florida in 1988, she approached a staffing firm to help her find a full-time role in PR. Instead, the firm hired her to join their own internal team. Shortly after, Helen realized she was ready to either join another agency or launch her own staffing firm with a partner. She chose to build something of her own. Not long after founding the business, she assumed full ownership and steadily grew it into the success it is today.
Helen has cultivated a company culture rooted in flexibility, collaboration, and recruiting well-rounded talent. Today, Midtown continues to scale, setting its sights on the top of the industry. The leadership team brings a fearless mindset—approaching every new challenge as an exciting expand possibilities, not as a roadblock. Midtown’s long-standing client relationships, some dating back to the company’s founding, are a testament to the team’s commitment to listening, understanding, and delivering on what matters most.
